Rather angsty, as he is still dealing with his guilt over his family’s death since he feels that he should have done something to prevent it from happening, even though he is aware that it is not his fault. As a soldier, however, Ben has no problem killing his enemies or targets that have been marked for cleaning. He also shows great concern and love toward friends, but mostly for his own wife and son.

H I S T O R Y

Benjamin Lazar is the youngest son of Monica and Alexander whom were former research scientists of Momentum Labs before resigning after they felt that Momentum was forcing them to create things against their values. As his parents struggled to keep their family together, it had become an inevitable fact that his parents would divorce when he was eight. He also has two older siblings, Zach and Jenny; their parents had often encouraged them to become scientists, but also had given the option to join the military, because, not only would they have a secured future but he would not have to worry over the children.

Despite their father's estrangement from the family, Ben’s older brother had inherited his passion for science as where Ben and Jenny had a passion for flying and fighting, something that would cause the two to enroll into the military reserves after graduating from high school. Following Ben’s basic training, he graduated from the military academy third in his class and immediately applied for the Marine Corps Tactical Squad where soon enough would be accepted. Due to his brother’s competitive streak, however and not wanting to be outdone by his little brother, Zach had applied for the military service too - a move that eventually brought tragedy to the Lazar household.

Hard work and dedication had eventually caused him to be promoted up in the ranks to lieutenant, Benjamin eventually received the opportunity to become one of the lead members of the elite R.R.T.S. (Rapid Response Tactical Squad); a military division that eventually would be stationed upon the SSV Viper after the alien invasion.

During his time, the squad had been sent on a series of missions that revolved mostly around dangerous super beings since the squad was more of a back-up when a situation became to hostile or assistance in clean up needed to be performed. On occasion, however, Ben has been known to take solo missions as he feels that gives him more mobility and a clearer mindset as he hardly has to worry about the safety of not just himself, but his teammates as well.

It was during one of his missions that he encountered a vigilante by the name of Lynx. Unknownst to her that he had been selected by his superiors to deal with trafficking of illegal government weapons, that were being sold to the highest bidder. Near the middle and end of their encounter, Ben had noticed her spunk and need to get things done along with her violent tendencies that nearly placed his own fighting methods to shame; but he knew one thing – together they had made an outstanding team. As fate would have it, the pair had continuously fought side by side; as Ben sought to make sure that his superiors had selected him to deal with whatever she was in the middle of that just so happened to involve them as well.

While her feelings grew for him, the same could be said with him. He had fallen for the woman in the domino mask.

During the war with the Geist and Aerophagytes, however, the two had been forced together once again. Sometime between rescuing lives and getting the wounded to safety and fighting off hostile aliens, Ben had been seriously injured – an event he saw as a blessing in disguise, because, it was Lynx that came to his aide; and like most heroes, her identity had been revealed.

When the war ended and things seemed to be returning back to normal, Ben had proposed to the woman that was beneath the mask, Nicole Sheridan.

A B I L I T I E S & W E A P O N S

Ben possesses the normal human strength of a man who engages in rigorous regular physical exercise; calisthenics, katas and firing range practice daily, maintaining his combat skills. He possesses an exceptional ability to tolerate pain as he is able to keep functioning despite injuries that would incapacitate an ordinary man and is proficient in hand-to-hand combat.

His arsenal of weaponry includes automatic and semiautomatic rifles, handguns, flash grenades, other various explosives, and combat knives. He commonly uses M16 .223 caliber automatic rifles, Sterling Mark 6 9mm semi-automatic rifles, 9mm Browning automatic pistols, .45 caliber automatics rechambered for 9mm. ammunition, .223 caliber Derringers, and Gerber Mark II combat knives.
